Line Assignment

I used mostly chalk and ink on these drawings.  I had a hard time fitting the paper size on the scanner though so the pictures did start within an equal quarter of the page on four different pages but I had to fold the pages to try and get them on the scanner.

Head Shot

I chose this picture because it expresses something about me.  Above everything else I am a mother and I love spending time with my son and having fun.  This picture was taken at one of those goofy photo booths.  I believe that this photo shows me in my truest form.  My son of course picked out the added graphics around us which I  think adds to the photo and to the proof that we like to have fun and be goofy.  I like this photo because it not only shows me for who I am but it also includes the most important thing to me in this world, my son.  I think that the bright blue contrasting color behind us makes us stand out more.  I also think that the circle that frames us draws your attention to us and makes us the center of attention.  I like how we are centered in the picture and I love the balance of the graphics around us.  The symmetrical guns and red vines and swirls give balance to the photo.  The white rays shooting all around us guides your focus to the center of the photo where we are.  It is like everything in the photo is pointing towards us.

Absence
I believe that this picture has no focal point.  The objects within the picture are all of fairly same size and color and all tend to blend together. Therefore, nothing really draws your attention to any one thing within the picture.

Isolation
This red square is placed outside the "wall" of cubes and its isolation makes it stand out as a focal point as well as the brighter

Contrast
I really like this picture because it not only grabs your attention right off the bat with its focal point but it also directs your attention through the picture.  The obvious color contrast here in the center of the page really grabs your attention.

One Element
This picture grabs your attention and pushes it to the yellow ball because all the objects are square in this picture except for this one.  Its round shape makes it stand out from the rest of the photo drawing your attention to the foreground and away from the yellow line in the background.

Placement
The focal point in the picture is placed within the center of the page making it stand out to you.
